My name is Matt Chapman. I live in Oxfordshire and I’m 15 years old and have lived here all my life. I am currently studying for my GCSEs at Faringdon Community College.
I was was keen to race karts when I was younger and started at an indoor circuit in Banbury at the age of 11. I joined in regular club meetings and was frequently found toward the front of the races. The owner of indoor track also ran a small team of karts at club meetings at outdoor kart circuits, often based at old airfields. I was invited to try the outdoor karting and took to it very quickly, winning all of my 6 races as a novice driver.
